Aye... Minather says distractedly. He seems relatively disinterested in the new arrival, though he is grateful for more companions. The going would have been much worse with 1 less person.
He pulls out his scroll, and a look of shock crosses his face. His shock turns to panic, and he collapses to his knees. The scroll falls from his hand, and the moment passes. He picks it up and pockets it quickly. The panic has now been replaced with a somber perspective.

Without changing his face, he says cryptically Battle with monsters, and you too shall become a monster. If you stare into the emptiness of the void, the void stares back into you.
He shudders, before changing the subject. So what now?

Brokan was somewhat startled by the Elf's strange behavior. For him, the answer was not sufficient.
"If there's any secret of yours that puts us in danger you must tell us. We need to be able to trust one another or we will not survive. I cannot trust someone with a secret scroll that causes him to panic and ramble."

Guy had been just about to respond to the newcomer's question when Minather suddenly collapsed. His hand lurches toward his sword, but seeing no visible threat, he forces himself to relax.
Minather's words, however, offer no satisfaction. He nods in agreement with Brokan. "Indeed... There's too much at stake to hold back from each other." His eyes drift back to Livia. Introductions would have to wait, it seems.

What more would you expect from a follower of Vecna? Minather says flatly. Suffice it to say, the scroll has much power. It is a guidebook, of sorts. Perhaps later, I may explain it's true purpose. The panic was an involuntary reaction to it's power.
At this, he promptly does an about face, and goes to the nearest bench to sit down. Still want an ale? he asks Kratimos.

((whoops! My bad! I totally missed your post!))
Kratimos backed up and looked back, and pointed his finger at the new member.
"You... I didn't see you." Kratimos's expression of confusion and worry came right back. "How did I... Hold up, I really need an ale now."
He walked back in the inn.
"I'll be right out."
The group could hear Kratimos asking for an ale and as "strong and hoppy as they come," and they could hear him chugging it down. Kratimos returned with a more satisfied look on his face.
"Shall we?"

Brokan mumbles to himself, "Moradin, Ehlonna, Vecna . . ."

At the mention of the name Vecna, a snarl curls Guy's lip and his hand goes right to the handle of his blade.

And you think petty squabbling will bring us closer to our goal? Minather snaps in return. I don't know about you, sir Paladin, but I've got bigger fish to fry than the Gods we serve.

Will no one tell me your names? I suppose I could just point and say you but that is considered rude in most places. Cutting a gap in the growling conversation, Livia glances over the party and stands waiting.
