I almost did. My Dremel smoked just before the parts got in, so I'm hamstrung until fall.

1. Spyderco Delica 4. I know you said you thought they looked cheap, but since I've got mine, I've cut cardboard, wood, and metallic blinds (aluminum, I think is what they are). Barely dulled. The grip is amazing textured (imo) and the handle doesn't have the cheap plastic feel to it, due to the nested steel liners. And VG10 is top tier steel, and almost unheard in this price range.

2. ESEE Izula. You'd have to buy it without the kit, but it really is great. 1095 holds an edge forever, and it's amazing comfortable to use for a skeletonized handle. Just keep it cleaned and oiled, and rust won't be an issue. The sheath takes some getting used to. It's an FRN polymer, which is a complicated way of saying strong plastic, with a really strong detent.

3. Opinels. I know you had doubts about a $10 knife, and this is technically under your range, but...I can't lie, this get's the spot. Full flat ground blades just slice perfectly. It will break if you do something stupid with it, and it's really a light duty knife, but I consider it necessary in my kit everywhere I go. Buy a neck pouch, they're cheap.

4. Buck 110. Classic lockback design. Will never scare sheeple, and looks pretty good with the wood and polished brass handle. No clip, but it comes with a leather belt pouch.

5. Swiss Army Classic/Tinker/Super Tinker. I don't think more needs to be said. I dislike not having a locking blade, but it's something no human shouldn't own.

Thanks for the suggestions, man. I'm thinking either the Spyderco, Izula or Opinel. I'd like one of those SOGs we talked about before, but really don't want to spend that kind of money at this time.

I know the Opinel is cheap, but how is the price on the others?

Izula without the kit is about $50 shipped, Spyderco's $54 shipped, Buck 110 is around $30, can usually be had at Walmart, and the SAK's go from the $10 Classic, to the couple hundred dollar megaknives, but the Super Tinker's around $25.

So, how's the firearm search coming?

Well, I'm pretty sure I have a .22 picked out, namely the CZ 452. Hope fully the FS version with the Mannlicher stock, but I'd settle for a Lux. Unfortunately, only a few models have iron sights, which I like/need. Bolt action and an excellent reputation for accuracy seal the deal for me on these.

Just because they're cheap, I may pick up a Marlin 60. Though it depends on how much money I make.

Still pretty set on a Mosin Nagant. Hopefully be able to afford a Finnish M39, as opposed to a Russian one.

Looking at either a Mauser or Enfield to scout mount a scope to for a car gun. Handguns are for fighting your way to a rifle. imo.

So far as handguns go though, the Sig P220 in .45 ACP looks promising, as does the CZ P07 Duty 9mm Para. Handguns aren't really something I consider necessary at this point though. Nice, but in the end, I'll take a rifle.

Should I make the obscene amount of money needed to convince me, the DPMS 7.62 x 51mm Sportical looks nice. But far from cheap.

Just for fun, I've looked at AK's. Cheap guns, cheap ammo, can't really complain, but I'm sure my parents could.
