I got one on there for free, shouldn't be much of a problem.

Meh.

Not quite worth it at the moment.

In a year or two maybe, when programmers figure out better ways to utilize multi-core processing.

What is the +/- of dual core processors?

What's the difference?

Also, if you could explain it the way you would to a brain damaged monkey, that would help.

It was great, but some of the stuff that was great is kinda hard to explain without revealing most of the stuff that the group is about.

Which would spoil the surprise for those who want to join the B.S.A.

OK, A standard processor has a "Core" inside it, for instance, the Pentium 1, 2, 3, 4, etc... are all named after the core inside.

A dual-core processor has, you guessed it, 2 cores inside it.

This means that you can theoretically run the two cores in sync, which is called "Parallel Processing"

This essentially means you've doubled your processing power.

However, not very many programs out there are Dual-Core optimized, meaning they can't take advantage of the multiple cores.

There are some, yes, and most of them are games, but there's even fewer quad-core optimized games out there.

Which is why I'd advise staying away from QC for now unless you do REALLY intense stuff. (I.E. Video editing)
