As for school, it's just too fundamental for my personality type, I'm afraid.

As for reading music, only a little. I can't play guitar or piano consistently from looking at sheet music. >_<

I just get aggravated quickly, since I tend to miss one note and it throws off the rest of them. Need to get over it, 'spose, if only so I can face plant the snooty peoples. That is not by the way, a shot at Deep. Just at snooty pretention. IT ANGERS ME.

Taking music lessons?

Basically everything I know is self-taught, although I did take some guitar in high school. (To be fair though, I didn't pick up that much from the class.)

So am I. But my skills are lacking, so I'm seriously considering getting some srs face lessons. Or at least a sammich.

Chozonozon: Well, first thing you need to know; pick gauge. Once you learn about pick gauge, everything else is laughably easy. But in all seriousness, despite taking a gratuitous amount of time, experiment a lot. Almost my entire style of play is derived from hundreds of hours of experimentation from which I eke out something that sounds like what I'm trying to say with the music.
