Not yet.

Still plan to after my trip this summer.

Just didn't really like the idea of having subpar equipment.

Do this thing. You'll not regret it.

I read that recently...

Why do you like it?

Because Turambar is by far Tolkien's most realistic and interesting character imo.

Why do people like realistic fantasy?

No clue.

But Tolkien set out to write myth, not fantasy.

The question still stands.

Combining Marvel Superheroes with Norse myth's = cool game?

Isn't that just a Thor game?

Perhaps. But I was thinking MUA. I didn't think they'd made a Thor game.

I heart Thor.

Ragnarok?

Not sure if they have.

And, I could write a paper on it.

Possibly will.

Do this thing. Ragnarok is awesome.

Think Excalibur exists?

Again, that requires a paper length answer.

In brief, I doubt it was ever stuck in stone, but if a historical precedent of Arthur existed, he doubtless had a sword which both outlived him and became a legend of it's own.

But, it doesn't exist anymore.

Probably at least.

See, swords of that age rusted with incredible ease. Comparatively, Bronze Age weaponry was far more rust resistant. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sword_of_Goujian

Now, here, I'm making certain assumptions based on the common understanding of Arthur.

Generally speaking, he's seen as a Briton under Roman rule who fought the Saxons.

However, before Roman historical references, there were longstanding Celtic roots to the myth of Arthur, all of which refer to him as a soldier, as opposed to a king.

It is therefore possible that he did use a bronze sword, being earlier in history than commonly assumed.

I would also say that if he was in an earlier time period, the reason for his revival was due to the Saxon invasion. It's easily conceivable that a Briton, realizing that he needed all the help he can get, named himself after a by then legendary figure in order to boost his forces morale.

Anyway, fun stuff.

None of that takes into account that the sword may have been, for lack of a better word, "magical" and prolonged the owners life. Not LOTR style. It also assumes that he died.

Nice historical answer, though. XD

Why, when someone brings up politics, do I feel the burning need to destroy and discredit whatever they say (regardless of which side they're on.)?
