What is your preferred way to handle miscommunication and misunderstanding?
Peace!

Peace!

If God is my Pilot and fully in control of the flight, I guess that makes me a Steward on the plane. How may I serve you?

That is a complicated question looking for a complicated answer.

Well, I usually try wait till every one is calm again or relatively so and then try to tell them exactly what i had said, slowly, and explain what it really meant and also staying as calm as possible while doing so. Miscommunication and misunderstanding cannot be fixed when tempers are flaring. If the person is still too upset, i'll wait some more until it's relatively "safe" to explain the misunderstanding into understanding.
Sometimes I can misunderstand things sometimes and i would usually try to give the person a chance to explain exactly what he or she meant or hear exactly what they said.
Sometimes misunderstandings can happen when someone isn't listening properly and they hear the wrong thing or the person speaking couldn't find the proper words or was mumbling when he or she spoke.
So, basically it comes down to, calm down, take it slow, say what you said again slower and properly and if that person don't understand still, explain what you are trying to say and most importantly, STAY CALM yourself.
Agitation is like yawning, it's infectious.
