It does require closer range. Only real advantage is that it can be used to deliver poisons instead of instant death. Plus, shooting someone in the bum with a needle is fun. >_>

Meh. My sheath preferences go some thing like: Belt = inverted shoulder > neck > boot> IWB > anywhere else
