So, wait, you're saying that the rich didn't use makeup back then, and that the Crusades (which saw... a bunch of stupid guys go and hook up with chicks and kill bad guys in the name of Christ) didn't happen? Whoa, now.

yes, I deny the crusades ever happened. And I'm an anti-Semite to boot...(J/k)
Well I hate to break it to you though scott but that's basically a culture where you don't even look at another man's wife....much less make out with her, etc.
And after a tiny bit of research I can't help but think. Where would chicks get eyeliner in the middle of a desert? And why would this eyeliner mysteriously last them for days while a war is going on right outside the city? And still I can't help but wonder WHY everyone's hair seems to stay perfectly clean throughout the entire movie?
Medieval cosmetics? Meh, not really sure eyeshadow was an option......unless you were a witch....
OH! And I just re-watched Van Helsing with the Hobo.
Now there is a movie in which it's OK to make historical inaccuracies!!!

Hey, man, if you want to start another topic about historical inaccuracies in movies, I encourage you to, because I really believe that would be a fascinating topic to discuss. But let's try to keep this thread to the topic.

It was...cute. Very weird, with a soundtrack equally weird, and not anywhere near as funny as everyone said. I laughed out loud maybe five times. How this movie got nominated for Best Picture is far, far beyond me.

I'd say that the soundtrack isn't as weird as you made it out to be...

Indie rock, ftw.
I just rewatched Shaun of the Dead. Really fun movie.

Before that...
The Pineapple Express
A funny, offensive action movie about a couple of potheads on the run. Basically... I wouldn't expect anything less from Apatow and Co.

The Dark Knight
Once again, absolutely amazing. My original rating still stands.

7 Mile
Ok... so it was 8 Mile, but I watched the VH1 edit of it. The film had a ton more potential than it actually capitalized on, which is unfortunate. I was very pleasantly surprised by Eminem's acting abilities.

One of the most unoriginal films I've ever seen. It completely relied on stereotypical formulas to carry it through. So it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't really good either. The best part of it was the directing of the first couple card game scenes when everything was sped up as the genius kid was thinking and adding up the numbers. The rest of it...meh. If I want a good "beat-the system" Vegas flick I'll go after the Clooney and Co. Ocean's 11.

Iron Man
I don't like superhero movies. It was a good movie and all but I didn't like it. Very entertaining.

August Rush. The only thing that was good about it was the music, which looked unrealistically played. The rest I thought was sappy and melodramatic.

Case for Christ - pretty good watch, funny how we got married at the church that Mr. Ridelnick preaches at sometimes.

Iron Man
Pretty good movie. I can't exactly say it's just like any other superhero movie. On the one hand, Mr. Downey, Jr. did a pretty good job, as did a bit of the supporting cast. On the other hand, the characters were still pretty flat. The story... I dunno... it wasn't extremely compelling. Still, great action... and a message here and there that I could appreciate... resulted in a very solid film overall.

The Incredible Hulk
Great movie. Full of fan service (stretchy purple shorts, anyone?

). Great acting by Norton, and Tyler did well, too (but what was with that awful haircut?). Fantastic action sequences and good character development fueled with lots of emotion. The story could have been deeper (or a little more removed from the previous Hulk film), but it was still decent.

It was a double feature at the local theater... and friends called me up to go... couldn't turn 'em down, could I? The fact of the matter is that I loved both films, but I would have to say that Hulk won out for me. The tie-ins between the two... and strong hinting at the upcoming Avengers film... were kinda sweet, too.

I want. To See. That Movie.
Children of Men
Still easily one of my all-time favorites. Never before have I seen a film that so well paints the picture of a despairing future. They created this destroyed world that, while different, feels so familiar and consequently so possible. Scary. Awesome. A masterpiece.
