I actually wore a kilt today. Dern fine garmentry. I want one in full plaid, as mine is black canvas.
Combining Monopoly and Risk?
Like, if someone landed on your hotel and was unable to pay, you could violently attack one of their territories. And if someone was being "that guy" and refused to sell a property no matter what offer you made to him, you could storm him and take it by force.

I wouldn't mine one in my family clan's colors.

The idea has merit. I like it. Do you know of any house rules that already address this?

Alas, I remain unaware of my clan colors. -_- That would be epic sweet though. And no, I don't know any current rule sets that would do it...interesting concept, though...may have to give it a shot sometime. Though really, I don't have anyone who would enjoy playing a game of that depth either. XD
Krystal's?

If you PM me your last name - or, if you have some genealogical work done, the last name of your Scottish ancestors - I can do some research and find out for you.

As the Starfox character? Or is that a restaurant chain that I've never heard of?

Do you have a dream game or two burning in your head that you'd like to make?

I've always had an interest in game design, and when I was younger I had a blast with computer programs like the
Adventure Construction Set. I've been hoping to find a similar program for much more modern times, but haven't had much luck.
If I did have the opportunity, it would likely be a science fiction-themed RPG that would probably focus on exploration. Perhaps a portion of the game would involve an expedition to an ancient civilization to determine why and how an alien race wiped themselves out.

I appreciate the offer dude, but I'm good. ^_^ That's a fair piece of effort. Thanks though.
Wire glue?

You know, I can't think of any reason why I would want to glue wire. I could see the need to solder it occasionally, but glue?

Have you ever checked out the
Adventure Game Studio? Or the
rpgtoolkit? I haven't used them in ages, so I can't attest to their current condition, but it looks like they are better than when I tried them out.
So, would this sci-fi rpg be near future or distant? cyberpunk or starships? And would it happen to use magitek?

Likely distant future, with starships. It occurs to me that part of the inspiration could be from enjoying [url=
http://www.mobygames.com/game/starfligh ... oud-nebula]Starflight II[/url so much while I was growing up. I absolutely loved that game. I never finished it, though. It was a bit wonky, in that every time you made a change to your computer - even so much as adding more memory to it - it invalidated all of your saved games and you had to start over from the beginning.
As for magitek... no. I've considered using it in stories before, but I'm afraid it'll make me look like one of those writers who doesn't understand science.
I'll have to see if those other programs will work. Thanks for the links!
Edit: Darn. Both Windows. They would have to wait until I get a new system that can run Parallels.

Nice! I started a Starflight 2 campaign a little bit ago; I should probably get back on it. I picked it up from
GOG, so they might have solved some of the technical issues. It's interesting because the heavy inspiration for my game idea comes from
Star Control 2, a game I grew up playing and which is in turn inspired by Starflight.
Gotta love those open-world exploration based space games, eh?

I wish there were more like it.
It's kind of amusing... the exploration bug strikes in other games, too. When playing one of the Civ games, I like discovering the world with my units. Once the entire map is revealed, then the game kind of gets dull to me. I rarely finish a game all the way to the end. My wife is the same way when she plays Civilization.

That's a tough question for me. I certainly have a favorite video game genre (role-playing games, especially turn-based RPGs) but there are so many great games out there it's hard to narrow it down to just one.
I've been working my way through the second Avernum trilogy, and plan to move on to Avadon once I'm finished. I do like
Spiderweb Software's games, and have for a long time (I played the original Exile games when they first came out. My first - and so far, only - private beta-testing experience has been with
one of their games as well. My name even appears in the credits!

Surprisingly enough, I haven't even heard of it before now. I may have to give it a try. Looks like it is on Abandonia.
