You used to be able to spam click with your sword (unenchanted iron sword even) and kill them before they blew up.

What are you planning on trying next in minecraft? (Redstone, enchanting, potions, explore the nether, etc)

What happened on your first day of Minecraft?

Did they take bows out of the game? That's how I always took down creepers.

Did you ever read the Harry Potter series?

Nothing that exciting, I'm afraid. I'm leaning heavily toward thinning some of my forest and building walkways to the viewing platform I want to construct between the cove and the ocean to the south. I have a lot of stone to use up, after all!

After that's done, I may redouble my efforts in the resource world in trying to find diamond. Once I have some decent diamond equipment, I may move on to building the naturewalk northwards, around the cove, to the spot I'd like to build my cabin. Long term plans include a bridge over the river to the west, and a lighthouse on the small island north of the cove. That will probably be the penultimate achievement to my improvements, since I would like there to be a beacon as part of the lighthouse. So a ways down the road, still.

There are still bows in the game... but due to an odd lack of spiders whenever I go looking for them, I have yet to come up with enough string to make one. Well... altogether I had enough string, but I used some to make a fishing pole.

I have, and I really enjoyed them! Much more than the movies. My favorite is still Goblet of Fire.

You still can, however the damage done to the mob is normally 0-2 health (0-1 heart). Before you could do full damage to the mob each time you spam clicked. In 1.9.1 spam clicking will pretty much be impossible since you cannot attack when a weapon is 69% or lower recharged (can be edited however (I think in the game's files)).

Creepers. Waiting for plants to grow or looking for material is just a matter of persistence, and is a problem that can be overcome with enough time and effort. But those annoying creepers have an opportunity of destroying all your hard work in a matter of seconds. At least I've been finding a way to deal with them, by luring them away from my constructs before they blow.

I find myself frustrated with the books, because I really like them, but as you go further in, they just get darker, and more emo, and aggravatingly angsty. So when I start the series, I love it. By the time I finish it, I wonder why I read it. XD

Good books suck you into them, so that the real world becomes lost to the threads of the authors weaving?

You see, that's how well it works. The books are written from Harry's perspective, so when they start, they are full of wonder and youthful optimism. The reason why the latter books are emo and angsty is because Harry himself has become emo and angsty.

I would say that well-written books can do this. But they also can suck you into the author's way of thinking as well - and soon you may find yourself agreeing with the author's point of view, which may have been different from your original one. Whether or not that's actually "good" would depend on the book in question.

It depends. Since I generally find them in the forest, they can be a mild annoyance. When they fire on me, I dodge behind a tree. When he closes the distance, I charge at it and smack it with my sword until it falls down. I would imagine though, if out in the open, they can be extremely aggravating.

They are annoying if in the open. How annoying are zombies to you in Minecraft?
