Wow. Awesome movie. Amazingly well directed, funny, there's never a dull moment, everything just flows...awesome movie. Raises some excellent moral questions without shoving a particular viewpoint in your face which movies never seem to do nowadays. I loved it.

I Am Legend.

I was very impressed with how the story was made more noble in the movie than it was in the short story. Neville was much more of a hero, in his character, and in the choices he makes.

I was also surprised by the prayer scene-where Neville prays with his family before they leave Manhatten-and by the emphasis on God's plan at the end of the movie. It gave the story so much more hope than in the book. The title itself makes more sense, too.

Once

I loved this movie. The acting for something so low budget as this was fantastic, and the singing and lyrics blew me away. It's a bit bittersweet at the end, I suppose, but all-in-all one of my favorites.

Into the Wild

This was definitely a beautiful movie, and I was surprised that it had some referencing to God and the Lord. The acting was superb, the characters were great, and the directing was top notch. The nude scenes I found to be unnecessary...and annoying. It bugs me when I have to look away for five minutes.

I really liked this movie, but it gets a B+ in my book.

I think it would be worth three dollars at Blockbuster.

And it depends on what you mean by "nicely." I don't want to give too much away but I will say that there is sadness, but it ends on a hopeful note.

I Am Legend

I am sorry, I pray she shall forgive, but I must disagree with my lady.

I found this film disappointing after all the hype that surrounded it before and after it came out in theaters. Any movie that dares to give itself the title, "I Am Legend" had better be really friggin good. And, alas, I did not find it so.

The first 30 or 45 minutes of the film had me thinking that it might just be as good as the hype said it was. The opening scenes were beautiful, with the discussion on curing cancer and then immediately giving a picture of the world three years later - the desolate New York city with Cariboo (I know that's not how to spell, but I'm not going to guess) running wild, grass coming up the cracks of the broken streets, and not a soul to be seen.

But when things actually started getting interesting, it fell apart. By the end of I Am Legend, I had no feel for Will Smith's character nor did I find him believable in some areas (the part in the dark building was freaky good though...well done, Mr. Smith). I did not like how the story concluded and expected it to go in a completely different, more satisfying direction. I understand the ultimate end of his character, but, without saying too much, it didn't have to be like that.

Oh...and the gripes about the monsters looking terrible, I disagree with. I liked the look of the vampires/hemocytes. Along with the whole virus/cancer thing, I thought it made perfect sense that they look more human and not more monsterish.

If you take it as just another action film, it's a good movie. But I expected something more epic along the lines of Children of Men.

I watched the very end of Driving Miss Daisy this morning. It has been forever since I have seen the entire movie though so I can't give a rating.

On the I Am Legend subject... (Spoilers) I fail to see how the title makes more sense in the movie. The movie completely distorts the title because in the book, he is a legend to the vampires in the same way vampires are legends to us, not because he saved a bunch of people (mainly because in the book, there were no other people, it literally was just him. Ironic because it was when the second person was introduced that the movie went downhill.)End Spoilers

I'm guessing SunShine saw the DVD version of the movie. There are enough changes to that version of the movie that those who saw it in theatres don't have room to disagree. See the DVD before disputing.

Spy Game

This is probably one of the better spy films that Hollywood has introduced us to, staring Robert Redford and Brad Pitt. The whole film flows naturally, balancing action, intensity, plots, and humor with perfection. There's a lot behind the story, but the film never gets that heavy-burden feeling of a screenplay trying to fit in too many plots to keep track of, which seems to be really popular today.

Redford and Brad have perfect chemistry in the teacher/learner role and made me laugh several times. Did I mention that Robert Redford is brilliant?

Bottom line: Awesome movie.

Wow. They did it. They cast Al Pacino as the good guy instead of the crime lord. In all reality, iamscott's been speaking well of this movie to me for a while, and, well, I absolutely was not let down. Every performance in the film was top notch. The plot, the interactions, the production quality, all were in place. One of the best movies I've seen in a while, really.

A bit of profanity and some scenes of making out (I don't remember if there was any actual nudity), in addition to a good bit of violence, cause the film to earn it's R rating. Not for the young. Still, I loved the movie.
