No, no, I don't mean the mods were added to MC. I was saying as I understood it those concepts were added into the code of MC. Something along the lines of "well if this is what they want, let's give it to them but with our codes."

Honestly I don't know how true/false this is, but it does make sense kinda and I've seen it in at least two places...

I have seen at least 1 mod that adds something that vanilla minecraft has now. The mod just adds some commands for 1.6 (vanilla minecraft already has like half of those commands the mod adds.)

I think minecraft is seriously just hundreds of code. So to make mods people have to go into the code and change it. Or add on to the code.

But I thought the MC code wasn't public domain yet?

I really don't know how they do it. But that is what I think they do. I don't see how they would otherwise without some really special minecraft website that allows you to mod minecraft.

Like the ones allowing skin creation. LAG CITY!

There have been changes that make old alpha and beta maps unplayable, but I have seen nothing about 1.4 and issues like that.

My all time favorite mod has to be Hexxit! I love all the cool new weapons, food, mobs, and backpacks it adds. ^_^

i really like the fisk's superheroes mod, it adds lot of cool superheroes, im not telling you which superheroes are are the mod tho, youll have to find out for yourself :p

You should probs look up a tutorial. It's a little difficult to explain in a forum post, at least without visual aid. =P

Most mods are installed the same way, so once you go through the process once, it's easy to do again with different mods and Forge versions.
