I like Doctor Who, I think David Tennant is my favorite doctor, though I do like Matt Smith. My favorite episode is probably Silence in the Library 1 and 2, and Blink.
I tried being normal once. Worst five minutes of my life.

I reject this like reality. I'm not a hipster because I dislike a show, or because I like the older version of it; especially since Tom Baker is arguably the most well known of the original Doctors. If I said 'Peter Cushing is the only real Doctor Who' then you could accuse me of Hipsterian disease.ArchAngel wrote:Well, I'm sorry to say, but the verdict is in and you're hipstering all over this Doctor Who thread.

I'm not sure that word means what you think it means.

It's kind of like how insane people don't know they're insane.

Here's my opinion. It's a good show for a niche audience. It had an old following and has a new following. Saying you're a hipster for liking it is like saying your a hipster for liking Starwars.
Personally, I can't stand the silly antagonists. Almost all the alians (except the gas-mask-faced kid, which was cool) or bad situations in the show I just find to quirky to be taken seriously. Though it has good writing, it's definitely not on my top-ten list.

The thing is, you guys are claiming I'm a hipster because I think the show is plain stupid (No offense, Deep or Matt. Only reason I posted in this thread to begin with is because I moved it over here). That's not a hipster.
hip·ster
noun Slang .
1. a person who is hip.
2. hepcat.
3. a person, especially during the 1950s, characterized by a particularly strong sense of alienation from most established social activities and relationships.
Or even an outmoded word for 'hippy'.
I do not fit any of those definitions. It has nothing to do with societal norms, or even a vague sense of alienation from them. I just think the show is dumb and vaguely depressing. In fact, I've always seen it, in agreement with Kyoujaku, as a sort of niche show; not liking it actually drives me deeper into the crowd, not pulls me away from it.
So basically, I really hope you're kidding at this point and trying to be serious.

Well ummmm, I am going to respond to the first post in this topic.
I like Dr. Who!
Though I actually haven't watched that many episodes.
I don't know, I just don't like how someone dies just about every episode.
(It kinda kills any enjoyment I had from the episode.)

If only CCGR could change your rank to "hipster."
Check it out, if you are a hipster, it's accurate.
If you're not a hipster, it's ironic, and you're a hipster.
Booyah.

I like how your definition doesn't fit any of the modern usages of the word. The more you go on about this, the more we are convinced.
*ahem* Allow me to illustrate:

Fine. I'm a hipster. At least that means I don't have to hang out in this thread anymore.
