I can't help thinking a big part of why family games tend to be bad games is because "family" usually means "kiddies" and games marketed to small children don't exactly have to be top tier.

I wish that game companies would learn from little big planet's example. You can make a perfectly great game, while making it acceptable for all ages. It dissapoints me that it seems as though what creativity and originality that people have is dwindling away.

Yeah but certain games wouldn't work if they were all acceptable for all ages. Like a game like GTA or Dead Space wouldn't work if they were all like that. Same goes for movies.

I'm not saying all games should follow LBP's example, but family friendly platformers SHOULD, while also being original and creative.
