I work in Baltimore. You encounter that level of stupidity and that's noteworthy. I encounter it and for me, it's Tuesday.

It's not that it was an oddity; it was just the latest rant building in my head. I have to switch them out frequently, to prevent staleness. But hey, I held my tongue and clamped my fingers down, so bonus points.
Not as a challenge, but as a serious question. I know it get's better MPG's, and manny tranny's are less liable to fail, and easier/cheaper to fix if/when they do. But my parent's recently bought a manual Matrix; and I can barely get the thing going. XD Once I get it moving, I do OK. But getting it into first after a stop...I've ridden smoother and more reliable roller coasters.
Prettymuch the reasons you listed. The internal workings of a manual transmission are FAR simpler than an automatic, and much, much less likely to fail.
Superior gas mileage is debatable. With modern, computer controlled automatic transmissions it may be a disadvantage when you shift for yourself, unless you're REALLY good at it.
Personally, I just like having more control. An automatic transmission may not necessarily shift when I want it to, and when the road conditions are bad I find a manual makes me feel more secure.
It takes a little while but once you get used to driving stick it becomes second nature and you won't even have to think about it anymore.

Will do, for sure. Still gotta figure out how much it will cost and so forth, and plan things. See if it's financially viable and such.
What is your favorite role to play in an RPG and why? I know you've done Paladin before, but I'm curious if that's the main class you tend towards or not.

Mortal Kombat?
World 8 is pretty brutal. My friend and I used to work together to try and get through it and we never did. We knew a trick to get a hundred 1ups, and 2 warp whistles, and just hit World 8 hard. To this day we've never completed that game.
Mortal Kombat has always been the type of game that, for me, is more fun to watch than to play.

I generally stick with Paladins, because I like the notion that a character is motivated by a higher, spiritual ideal.

Yeah you can pull out whatever cards you aren't comfortable with, but honestly I don't see much in it that I'd have a problem with. I let my 7-year-old play without removing anything. What few grown-up-ish jokes are in the cards sail right over the heads of the youngsters.
