I'm torn. It is perhaps better than the original, but the OG X had a far better ending (I have not, however, beaten it on hard mode yet) and I liked the graphical style better. They moved around the armor set a bit (still in the same stages, just different armor and locale), updated the graphics to 3D (X being that animated was somewhat odd) and added more dialog between X and the bosses before each fight. Which is cool, since it's actually voiced. And again, X is not voiced by a little girl this time. There is also a hour/half hour long movie unlocked upon completion detailing the origins of Sigma.
Spoiler:
They did, however, vastly minimize Zero's self sacrifice. Call me a fanboi (which I am) but there should have been an animated sequence. Somehow, even in the older SNES version, it was more of an impact. Then, Zero tried to kill Vile and was captured, and when X came and fought Vile, Zero escaped, uttered a 90's action phrase (which yes, in fact, I do remember. XD) and then activated his energy overload to stop Vile from pasting X, killing himself in the process. X defeats Vile and finds Zero in time for him to deliver a poignant, uplifting dialog.
In this, Zero is lying half dead on the floor when X get's there, and before X can do anything, Zero leaps up and activates the overload, and after killing Vile, the monologue is much more cliche and not as poignant. Still sad though.
Still, no real complaints for what it is. Final boss is easier this time around, and actually...I think most of the bosses are.
Violence is 'bot on 'bot, so no blood (or even oil) though there are a few dismemberments and explosions. No real spiritual or moral issues (X is actually a Maverick Hunter, the special police force created to combat rogue reploids) and the few curses not present in the English version (but oddly are in the X Collection version. I assume it was the Japanese version. Maaaaaan I love the 90's) were not included in this version.
High recommendation from me, if it is worth anything. Only $5 from the PS store.
I can't give a difficulty rating. I've been playing this game since I was 6. :\

I've been not... really... gaming lately for some personal reasons, but... last game I beat was LA Noire.
Back in May.
Because I'm on top of these things.
And it was... pretty much amazing.

GTA: San Andreas
I was expecting the story to be longer for some reason... Great game though. I enjoyed going through it with early 90s jungle, hardcore (in the electronic breakbeat sense), punk and alternative rock on the user track player.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Took me about 7 years and 3 tries to beat it, but I finally did. Epic, epic game. <3

You had a similar time with that game as I did. XD
I had it nearly to the end (had to hunt the triforce pieces) but it was saved at a friends house, and his brother deleted my file to save his. I did this twice, with nearly the same results both times.
Finally, about 2 years ago, I bought the game myself and beat it. Good game.

Ooooouch. XD XD
What happened for me was that I first rented the game while at my grandparents' house, but didn't have time to beat it (even though I played it endlessly. XD).
After that, I bought it, but then near the end my Gamecube fried. Years later, I finally picked it up again and beated it.

Nice. XD First time I've ever heard of a 'Cube frying.
How long did it take you to beat it? I think I hit around 29 hours.

My dad was working on the electric in our house, and the 'Cube was plugged in at the time. It was like a power surge or something. Anyway, after a jolt, there was actually smoke emanating from my console. XD
Hm. I'll have to check for sure, but I think around 24 hours. Good, decent length.

Red Faction.
This was game haaaaaaaaaard. O_o Perhaps one of the harder FPS games I've played, over the years. The EV suit is clearly made to protect from the martian atmosphere, and not bullets. Especially in the latter portion of the game. It's one-too-five shot kills with every weapon. It's cray hard too, since the mercs spew out a storm of bullets.
Ending was OK. Somewhat underwhelming...but still fine. The game wasn't particularly story-driven anyway. It was, however, more than a water thin "Dees guys gon kill j00 and everyone so kill dem back", but less than Halo.
Really, no complaints. Not even the difficulty. It offered a challenge (though I did, admittedly, look up a walkthrough to make sure I was doing it right, and not missing some reason that would make it easier. I was, at one point; but only one) not usually offered. Good stuff. And very tame for an M-rating. Language was mild, as was blood...no dismemberment either. I think had it been made a year or so later, it would have gotten a T-rating.
I'm tempted to get the sequel, but from what I can tell, it's not particularly related except for the concept of nanotech and revolution. It's also, from all accounts, chunkier.
I could recommend it as a simple, fun, FPS.

HeXen - Fun, intense, dark game. Ready for something lighter now with more emotions, which is why I'm not going to play the expansion pack now but started on the Indiana Jones adventure game.
During this playthrough I've found all the secret levels. Had to check a walkthrough once for a switch I'd missed, did the rest on my own. What I like about these old games is the sheer amount of enemies you have to slay, that got lost with most modern shooters due to enemies becoming polygon-based instead of them being sprites. Solving all the puzzles is also a really fun part of this game.
Anyway, 't was fun.
