I'm working on an acoustic reinterpretation of the song. I'm actually kinda excited about it.

I might have a career in YouTube covers.

Or not.

But at least this gets me used to writing out songs and playing them well. XD

I added a LOT more to my song "Her". I added a whole new section to the song. Hopefully everyone can feel it once it's one.

Just created the intro last night. No name yet, but that'll come once I get the lyrics going.

To break the monotony, I would at random moments play the intro to "Spoonman" by Soundgarden.

Clocks, Shiver, and Violet Hill all by Coldplay.

Near the end of the guitar solo is really hard on Shiver. And Clocks is just freaking tiring.

"Comes and Goes" <- Me <- Acoustic and vocals

Chorus:
It comes and it goes
It comes and it goes but nobody knows
It comes and it goes
It comes but nobody knows

The song is about the hard times that come and go in life... but having someone (God, perhaps?) to hold onto during the hard times.

On the strumming or the power chords?

I'm going to assume strumming.

I don't believe that song uses power chords...but I haven't looked at the tab in a while.

I guess it technically does, but it was keeping the strumming and the chords synchronized that got me.

The last song I played was "Witchy Woman"---The Eagles---Guitar.

Pretty easy.

The way I used to play it did. The intro has diads (root and third notes)... and 5(no3) chords (aka power chords). Seems like there was some drop d in it, too... which... would have power chords.

Uhm. I've been singing "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley all morning. Does that count?
