What have you listened to?
Relient K, Keven Max, Flyleaf, Toby Mac, Jars of Clay, Skillet, Switchfoot.
I used to listen to secular music like Jesse McCartny or whatever his name is. I also used to listen to Hilary Duff and NSYC because they are all apropriate. But then I realized i really hated all of them. Hilary Duff is okay but I don't listen to her. Then there is all of the inappropriate secualar music. I don't know all of the names but I have listened to it at my friends house and it was pretty bad.
There are plenty of good secular bands. You just aren't looking hard enough. Granted, there are some nasty ones, but there are also clean and really cool ones out there. Like 30 Second to Mars and Serj Tankian's solo stuff. I personally can't stand Christian music, because I don't like how it sounds.
It's funny, some of the most popular (IMO) Christian bands are the ones that don't sing about God all the time (Switchfoot, Relient K).

I think those two bands are okay at best.

Switchfoot = awesome. Relient K = 5/10 IMHO. I didn't say they were both great, you'll note.

Same with all the crossover bands. Flyleaf, As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, Paramore, you name it.

So what's the thing that makes people say "aye, there's the rub"? Is it the "only singing praise" and people want to *gasp* listen to something else?

Okay, Darth....
Elvis. Doesn't involve worshiping God.
Hell. Doesn't involve worshiping God.
Elvis is therefore satanic.

that is in fact a lie and I have no reason to comment on that if your not willing to get your facts straight.
The same goes for everyone else...

I think Elvis released a christian album once.
I very rarely seperate christian and secular music. I see it all as music. However, from what I've seen, very few Christian bands are as good as some of the secular bands I listen to.

Seriously dude, funny stuff.
I'm not going to bring up the old argument, but here's something for you too, uh...Chew on:
"You just ate a POO cookie."*
But, then again, I can't especially comment on your tastes in bad or nasty music because I'm not God (remember the Plank eye Jesus mentioned?) I have no place to do anything more than...Well, I don't know what exactly I can do.
I apologize to you, as it seems I too eat poo cookies.
When I listen to music I listen to mostly christian, but some secular stuff as well. However, I own the following Cd's:
Joy Electric: Robot Rock
Relent K: Anatomy of Tongue in cheek, and Two wrongs don't make a left.
Switch foot: Eh, most of 'em.
Kutless
The Monkees
* Taken from Lord Foulgrin's letters.
The Monkees
And that's about it.

I'll listen to whatever I want. I can look past the fact that they are satanists and just listen to the music. Will I go to a concert? No, but I'll still listen to them.

relient K, switchfoot, and I think kutless are all christian. At least, the band members are Christian and a lot of the lyrics allude to it.
