It makes him unusual, but maybe not so complex. Sometimes I had to wonder if there was anything BUT self-pity. His whole identity is being a leper.
And he can only be motivated if he decides that he isn't living in a meaningless dream.

Unless he's motivated through the want to get out of the dream that he thinks he's in... that's what I got from it, anyway.

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

Yeah. That's kind of a weird position. He didn't want to be in the 'dream' because it was so good. He thought that he wouldn't be able to deal with being a leper again. Its like being tortured by happiness.

Well... no, it doesn't. In fact, sometimes I wish I had that much of a fantasy life... but I'm stuck with reading or playing what others have created, and creating worlds of my own (my personal preference).

I Am America (And So Can You!) by Stephen Colbert

It's a fun read so far.
A vegan atheist walks into a bar. Bartender says "Hey, are you a vegan atheist? Just kidding, you've mentioned it like eight times already."

The classic, not the re-write.

I think I read that...is that the one where that guy picks up that girl and they kinda fall in love and then they get blown away by a guy?

Kinda. he dosen't get blown away(Unless you count him getting shot with a shotgun), he just starts killing drug dealers.

Vigilante violence isn't good... but that killing drug dealers... I liked that part. :) 'Mr. Clark' is one of my favorite Tom Clancy characters.

He IS pretty cool. Best Clancy novel, by far, is The Sum of All Fears (in my opinion).
