I just pulled out all of mine, made sure the pistons were all even, and put a special kind of engine cleaner in there to set for a few hours. (some of it went into the gas tank as well, and we need to get more for the vaccuum hoses) I turned the engine over, gross unspeakable gunk shot out, I put the spark plugs back in, and ta-da, clean engine :3
