Really? I've heard nothing but negative things about it. Glad you enjoy it though.

Better or worse than the first? Disregarding difficulty issues...

It's not the first game. That's the problem most people are having with it.
Fact is, the combat is smooth and responsive, and the console version isn't the stripped down thing we got last time. If I were playing it on PC, I might have a different opinion, but I'm not.
And anyway, I don't like the thread of "PC games are dying because of consoles" thought that many PC gamers have. They're not, and while they maybe shouldn't have changed the combat system as drastically on the other system, there's plenty of reason for, as the lead designer of the game put it, "platform parity."

Both are excellent, and the review more or less matches my feelings on the game.

Better.
I feel like I'm playing an actual character now. I feel like the characters that you journey with are more detailed, even more than Mass Effect 2. I feel like the story that they present is more nuanced, more political, and less typical than the LotR-lite which was Origins. It's an excellent game.... not Bioware's finest, but certainly strong. The combat is reminiscent of Jade Empire, but faster. Total plus in my book.

Strangers Wrath is like combining a spaghetti western with Shrek. I loved it.

What you say there makes me extremely happy. What kept me going through DA:O was the fun world. The characters... meh. With the exception of one of two of them, I could have cared less. Story was good, but I really need some strong characters for me to truly consider a game "great".
Also... what's the world like in DA2? And how to you move about it? Similar to Origins?

You pretty much stay in one place.
That's not entirely true, but the game's setting is the city-state of Kirkwall, and the surrounding vicinities. There are one or two departures into the Deep Roads, plus a couple areas surrounding the city, but the majority of the game's main plot quests occur within the city. So basically... you get to know one location really, really well.
And you spend around a decade in Kirkwall, which is the span of the story. Biggest complaint, as of right now? There's no new game plus.
