I've heard that the combat is awful, though.

It's actually about the same as Oblivion, except the attack type (Chop, slice jab) is determined by movement direction, unlike Oblivion. Though there is a setting to change that.....kinda. You can make it use the most effective attack.


Red Faction?

Combat isn't bad at all. Not in first person. Third Person can get tricky, though.
