The halls are mostly sterile with the polished cement floor slightly scuffed from frequent staff use. A mop and bucket rest against a wall opposite of you., left by an old janitor. As you peer past the corner, you see another mostly empty hall with a fire emergency box at the end, the end near the enclosing shadows. They seem to move to cover and possess the box, You can just barely make out a fire extinguisher, a hose, and a fireman's axe behind the glass. The hallway ends at a T intersection, and the shadows are coming from the left. The sign at the intersection directs to a Medical center to the right and Security to the left.

Stephen murmurs softly, "two, maybe more." He eyes everyone's weapons. "Wait til Chris is here and make a plan before we do anything stupid. I'm low on ammo and hurt besides"

He motions at Conner to take of his shirt, pulling out a couple bottles of booze and a spare lighter from his pack.

((Wood or metal mop? Distance to targets?)

Conner slides off his backpack, then takes off his button down and gently tosses it at Stephen. "Shouldn't we make sure these aren't normal people before we, you know, torch them?"

How Stephen planned to torch something with a shirt and shampoo, he had no idea.

Panting, Chris rejoins the group.

"So um... we should probably stay away from the medical center... Whatever's going on, I'm betting people will be swarming there and if this thing's contagious..."

Stephen shakes his head at Conner, ripping sections out of the shirt. "If they're normal and walking like that, they're injured. Injured means desperate, and it'll be safer just to take them out first." He hands over the two bottles, lighter and cloth. "Wrap some rubble, pour, ignite, throw. You'll get a nice little blaze."


He nods at Chris. "Much as I could use some painkillers there's too much risk." He looks around at the group. "I'm pretty useless in a straight fight right now. If I can get them to this doorway, will ya'll be able to pull off a little ambush?"

"You have have my mop!" Jack replied as he returned from grabbing the mop and bucket. Ack, this isn't really the best time for cheesy jokes. "Hmmm... well I already have some rubble with me, does anyone need this mop?" Jack said looking mostly at Chris as he doesn't quite have a weapon yet.

((The mop and bucket was in a safe place to obtain, right?))

Conner takes the offered supplies and nods. "But I'm not lobbing flaming objects at anyone who isn't trying to eat you. Or shoot you."

The footsteps get closer as you are making arrangement and they stop. You hear the voice of a young man with a moderate german accent.
"Did you hear zat?"
Another voice answers, deeper and southern. "No, now let's just go and get you wrapped up."
"No, no, there ees something around ze corner."
"It's fine." The deeper voice reassured.
"Please, just check?"
A sigh. "Okay. Just hang tight."

You hear heavy footsteps begin to move in your direction.

You took a quick peak around. You see his head begin to move in your direction, and so you couldn't get a great look, but you didn't spot any discernible weapons.

The Medic and Engineer from Team Fortress? Nah. "Well, shall we greet them? They seem to just be passing through." said Jack relieved that it wasn't more zombies.

Fair enough, thought Conner. He said nothing. Instead, he set his rubble down, stepped around the corner and waved.

At the same time he carefully looked the man over to see if his injury was bite shaped, or "normal" trauma.

You spot no injury on the man.

The man is taken back and a bit perplexed by you jumping out and waving. He's dressed in normal civilian clothes, with a pretty strong build, average height, and a 5 0'clock shadow. He waves back.
"No worries, Dietrich," he calls back, "it's not one of them."
He turns his attention back to you, and rests his hands on his hips.
"So who are you, and you got any friends back there?"

Gonna have to keep an eye on that one Chris thinks, regarding Stephen after the threat against Jack.

I start fiddling with the frequency knob on the radio to see if I can get anything useful. I also have the volume down low enough that I have to hold it near my ear to hear it, so that the sound doesn't attract any attention elsewhere.
