In FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE, players follow twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura as they wander into an abandoned village infested by wraiths. This complete remake of the second title in the FATAL FRAME franchise introduces new gameplay elements, along with enhanced graphics and immersive spatial audio, to scare even the most seasoned horror game fans. The series’ signature system—repelling wraiths by photographing them with the Camera Obscura—returns in this title, allowing for a more dynamic use of the Camera Obscura in both exploration and combat, including Special Shots to help inflict significant damage and repel spirits. A new gameplay feature has also been introduced: the ability to hold hands with Mayu. This allows players to feel the true depth of the sisters' bond throughout the story.
For players wishing to play through the early stages of the game, a free demo of FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE is now available on all platforms. Players will venture into an abandoned house, guided by a crimson butterfly, where they will engage in terrifying encounters and intense battles against hostile wraiths. Save data from the demo transfers over to the full game upon purchase.
The Digital Deluxe Edition is also now available and includes the base game and the Digital Soundtrack and Digital Art Book, as well as the Digital Deluxe Bonus Set featuring the Deluxe Charm and costumes for Mio and Mayu*. ABOUT FATAL FRAME: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE
This title is a full remake of FATAL FRAME/PROJECT ZERO II: Crimson Butterfly, the second game in the FATAL FRAME/Project Zero series, originally released for PlayStation®2 in 2003. In this Japanese horror adventure game, twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura visit a stream from their childhood that will soon be submerged by a dam. As Mio reminisces, Mayu is lured away by a crimson butterfly, leading her to a mysterious village that has vanished from all maps—a village trapped in an endless night, full of vengeful spirits searching for the twin girls who once escaped their ritual. As Mio searches for Mayu and tries to escape, her footsteps unknowingly retrace the village’s tragic past. Within its depths, she uncovers the terrifying truth behind the “forbidden ritual that must never been seen.”
