The multiplayer PvE adventure shared its first gameplay trailer during the Future Games Show’s best of gamescom ‘25 showcase, with its main characters providing the soundtrack!

COLOGNE, Germany — August 24th, 2025 — During the Future Games Show’s Best of gamescom 2025 showcase, Parisian developer Opus Major premiered a new gameplay trailer for MAJJAM, illustrating the musical mechanics that fuel the upcoming PvE co-op adventure. All music heard in the trailer comes from in-game Jam cards: the unique musical powers wielded by the game’s playable heroes. Each character is inspired by and embodies a particular musical instrument and style, and only their collective Jamming power can save their world from an evil fog that silences all sound. In the lively world of MAJJAM, players interact with each other and their environment almost exclusively through rhythm and melodies. Music is the world’s life force, a sustaining energy that stands as the only defense against the Kodé: a corruptive, encroaching presence pushing fog tides where death and silence rule. Players harness musical energy by Jamming, combining the unique abilities of their character’s Jam card alongside those of their allies to fight back against the Kodé, discover and solve puzzles, and reshape the world around them. No instrumental expertise is required to play these melodies and rhythms, giving all players the opportunity to become powerful musicians!

Each character’s Jam card is supported and augmented by a system of musical abilities that players can unlock, collect, and store throughout the game. Each ability has a specific power that further deepens the player’s skill set and ability to influence and explore their environment. Created by a team of developers with their own musical talents and inspired by their own jam sessions, MAJJAM is an ode to the communal power of both music and gaming!
