Award-Winning Survival Game launches open Demo at Gamescom
Made by an Indigenous team from Canada, Akiiwan: Survival is a relaxing survivalcraft game with a talking campfire that aims to be more deep but also more chill than any survival title ever made.
The game is centered around a mysterious talking campfire that is the keeper of 10,000 years of survival knowledge. It also features several unique signature elements, like animated stars that light up the night sky to show you how each craft is made
Early Player Reviews
Stopped by yesterday at PAX East and am sooo exited to see this game! Survival as a genre is my absolute favorite and this game looks absolutely incredible.
I’m an Indigenous archeologist and I've always hoped someone would make a game like this!
Really happy to discover this game, today! I'm Canadian, a wilderness enthusiast and instructor. Looking forward to watching your progress!
Developer Quote
“We like to say this is a survival game where you never cut down a tree – not because there’s something wrong with it, but because it’s stupid. In real survival, first of all, there are fallen trees all around you, and second, if you really need to take down a tree there’s a much easier way to do it. Find a tree that’s leaning a bit already, pack the top with mud so it won’t burn, and have your campfire under it for a few nights. Why get sweaty, exhausted and blisters with an axe when the fire could do your work for you?”
