Beijing, China (July 3, 2025) | NTE, the highly anticipated supernatural urban open-world RPG developed by Hotta Studio, officially launches its Containment Test today. Players are invited to step into the expansive city of Hethereau, where humanity coexists with surreal and unpredictable Anomalies.

In this exclusive test, you take on the role of an Appraiser - an Esper-powered, unlicensed Anomaly Hunter - responsible for exploring the city, containing Anomalies, and uncovering the hidden mechanics behind this fractured reality.

While applications to the beta are now closed, players will still have the chance to win access via Twitch Drops. From July 3-7, viewers can earn a chance to win NTE Containment Test access just by watching participating streams on Twitch! Simply link your PWG account and tune in—watching for a short time could be your ticket to the test.

New features unlocked in the Containment Test include:

Expanded Playable Area: Explore two newly accessible regions of Hethereau.

New Herland District –A gleaming skyscraper-packed financial hub, home to the headquarters of major corporations and the most cutthroat Anomaly Hunter market in the city.
Miguel District – A lush tourist paradise featuring Hethereau’s largest natural scenic belt and iconic landmark towers. Popular among citizens for weekend getaways, it’s the perfect backdrop for leisure—or danger.

New, interactive urban gameplay: Experience true freedom in city traversal and law-breaking consequences.

Requisition various vehicles and drive freely across the city.
Trigger the multi-level wanted system by committing crimes—escalating from simple warnings to full-on citywide chases.
Challenge racing crews in fast-paced multiplayer street races, teaming up with friends to dominate the districts.

Dynamic Weather and Immersive Day-Night Cycle: Watch Hethereau transform in real time as the environment reacts to changing weather and time:

From clear skies to rainstorms to heavy snow, each condition alters the city’s visuals, traversal, and atmosphere.

NTE is an ambitious and unique online RPG that takes place in the city of Hethereau - a vast, seamless open world rendered with the power of Unreal Engine 5, where humans co-exist with supernatural anomalies. Players will control a range of vibrant and dynamic characters, each with their own unique personalities and abilities, in order to explore the city and investigate these anomalies in episodic, comedy-drama storylines.

Aside from the core story and RPG gameplay, players will also be able to take part in an ever-expanding roster of activities, including collecting, modding and racing sports cars, buying and designing their own chic city getaways and even running a business.
