Scarlet Moon celebrates 11 years of the Billboard-charting jazz cover album series with a free album covering music composed by Scarlet Moon founder Jayson Napolitano

SAN DIEGO - May 19, 2025 - Scarlet Moon is pleased to present Prescription for Sleep: Under a Scarlet Moon. The album commemorates 11 years of the Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies series featuring GENTLE LOVE, a jazz duo comprised of Metal Gear Solid series composer Norihiko Hibino on saxophone and Etrian Odyssey/Streets of Rage performer AYAKI on piano. Prescription for Sleep: Under a Scarlet Moon provides soothing jazz renditions of six original compositions written by Scarlet Moon founder and hobbyist musician Jayson Napolitano from the years 2002-2011. The album is available on streaming platforms and digital storefronts including Bandcamp, where it is available for free, alongside the original versions of the songs linked from the store page:

Prescription for Sleep: Under a Scarlet Moon is the 16th album in the Billboard-charting jazz series which began on May 19, 2014, and has since enjoyed tens of millions of streams across 15 previous releases including three compilation volumes, seven more dedicated to Secret of Mana, UNDERTALE, Celeste, Shovel Knight, Wizard of Legend, Stardew Valley, Attack of Titan, and ActRaiser, respectively, a compilation of battle themes turned into lullabies, and two charity releases in honor of late Nintendo President Satoru Iwata and late game developer Yoshitaka Murayama.

"I came to accept at an early age that I would only be a hobbyist musician," reflects Scarlet Moon's Jayson Napolitano. "I still write music every now and then, but understood my limitations early on. I thought it might be fun hearing some of my compositions re-imagined by Hibino-san, and we debated whether he'd do the Hollywood hybrid style he's known for in games, or if we'd do a Prescription for Sleep album. We ultimately opted for the latter. Given its music people aren't familiar with, I thought 'free' was the right price point.
