Kodansha Creators’ Lab Releases Three Demos During Steam Next Fest Feb 24

New demos for Shoji Meguro’s Tactical JRPG “Guns Undarkness”, ARPG “Rise of Rebellion”

Kodansha Creators’ Lab, the indie game publishing arm of entertainment company Kodansha Ltd., announces it will take part in Steam Next Fest with three demos from its upcoming line up starting Monday, Feb. 24 - Mon, March 3rd, 2025.

The lineup includes Shoji Meguro’s (the composer of the Persona series and Metaphor: ReFantazio) stealth turn-based JRPG Guns Undarkness, GCORES’ 3D medieval fantasy action RPG Rise of Rebellion, and developer tokoronyori’s two-player-only puzzle adventure BOKURA: planet.

Stealth Turn-Based JRPG

Nuclear war has triggered The Great Reset, and a private military company has been tasked with restoring order to humanity. With a combination of stealth, strategy, and customizable firearms, target opposing forces when they least expect it for a tactical advantage, in the first independently-directed title from Shoji Meguro.

Push back against opposing enemy forces in a mix of close-quarters and long-range combat across devastated cities, war-torn villages, and forge relationships with fellow soldiers to boost ability powers.

3D Medieval Fantasy Action RPG

Heated melee battles await as a hero fights back against invaders of his hometown. Button-mashers beware — make every movement count as strategic strikes, well-timed dodges and purposeful parrying reign supreme over hapless heaving of weapons.

Harness the power of the Earth to unleash power up various combat mechanics, but mindful of overusing magic which can temporarily make the hero defenseless. In the demo, experience the prologue and taste the tension of Rise of Rebellion’s hard-fought battles.

2-Player-Only Puzzle Adventure

In a standalone tale with exclusive content not in the full game, team up with a friend to devise an escape strategy after two convicted astronauts crash-land on a mysterious planet. Work together using voice chat to solve puzzles, and overcome challenges such as locked doors, moving platforms, and other obstacles.

But there’s a twist: each crew member will be given a secret objective that could jeopardize the other’s chances of survival. Will the duo manage to maintain enough trust to make it out alive, or will their hidden agendas tear them apart?

Guns Undarkness, Rise of Rebellion & BOKURA: planet’s new demos are coming to PC via Steam as a part of Steam Next Fest on Monday, Feb. 24th.
