But Amazon not only refunded my money, they allowed me to order it from a private seller and then paid for the cost of shipping. Which I thought was incredibly nice of them.

Amazon has a reputation for outstanding customer service, and this sounds like one more example of it.

I can't say that I've ever had this sensation. Either I will find the food repulsive and refuse to have another bite (my usual response to anything with cauliflower) or I will find it at least palatable. I'm curious to learn what might have evoked this in you, though.

Camembert cheese. It's got this vaguely bleachy/astringent flavor that melts into a soft, sharp cream, and the rind has the texture of...I don't know. Chewy ash? A waxy cotton ball? It's horrifying. Especially when you consider you just glommed a chunk of mold.

But the whole, after you chew it for a few seconds and punch your gag reflex in the face, is actually pretty tasty. At least on bread. For the record, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to taste like that, since every Brie-type cheese I have ever tasted has tasted very similar. XD

I think I've tried it... but to my recollection, you aren't supposed to eat the rind. It's been a while, though....

I am not fond of these candies. Although the flavor tends to be pretty good, once they shrink to a certain point they have a tendency to jump down my throat and stick there. It's happened more than once, too. As a result, I tend to avoid them whenever I can.

I'm not too fond of the taste of bananas, for some reason. Also, since I'm one of the few people in the house that is not allergic to nuts, they don't make it here very often. So I'll have one if there are no other options, but I would prefer blueberry, or chocolate chocolate chip.

Books which genuinely surprised you with how good they were?

Since I have my own Kindle now, I've been reading quite a few of the books that my wife has picked up over the years - some of which were free! There are some surprisingly good ones in our digital library. One example would be the "Jim Morgan" trilogy by James Ramey (here is the link to Amazon). These novels detail the story of a young boy named Jim Morgan (obviously) who was raised to be a spoiled brat. However, after his father is murdered, he flees to the slums of London and stumbles into a series of adventures with a group of young scoundrels. The books do have the occasional typos and grammatical errors, which tells me that it wasn't professionally edited. But the story keeps up a good pace, and the adventure is exciting enough to allow me to overlook the errors.

I'm thinking that I need to start reviewing books soon. I'm trying to get 100 game reviews published here, so that could be a good goal to get 100 book reviews listed on Amazon, right?
