I'm currently reading Neuromancer by William Gibson. It's definitely not a kid's book, and it has some unfortunately graphic use of drugs and sex, but at the same time...it's the grandfather of cyberpunk. At the very least, it's worth reading to experience the prototypical cyberpunk novel at least once. If you want to write cyberpunk, then I strongly recommend this novel. Otherwise, I won't feel bad if you chose to skip it for content reasons. :P

Nice, Neuromancer is on the long list of to-reads. Followed by some Stephenson. Snow Crash, perhaps?

Recently finished Hyperion and started The Fall of Hyperion. Man, Dan Simmons is really holding up.

Malodrax by Ben Counter. Warhammer 40,000 is my favorite franchise and the Imperial Fists are my favorite Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine Chapter, so this book is going really well for me
