I got Pokémon: Omega Ruby for Christmas and lately I have been playing the poo out of it. I also took a trip to Enchanted Rock this past weekend, so I had the chance to play lots while I was in the car.
On the way to E-Rock, I spent hours Super Training my Pokémon in preparation to catch Groudon. I ended up fighting him about 5 times. On the last attempt, I had whittled his HP down to about 20-30 points so I threw an Ultra ball which he broke out of immediately. I then threw a Great ball which caught him on the first try.
On the way back from E-Rock, I caught a shiny Magikarp. I was like, "whoa, this golden fish is cool but it'll look cooler once it's a Gyrados." Because I'm still sort of a Pokémon noob, I decided to evolve it into Gyrados. I later found out that Gyrados is not worth much and that shiny Magikarps are extremely rare.
Am I the only one who has done this sort of thing in Pokémon?
