Hoping to “Catch” Support from Crowdfunding Campaign

Los Angeles, CA (WEB) August 12, 2014 – Director John K.D. Graham and producing partner and wife, Alexandra Boylan launched a new campaign today for their upcoming faith-based film, “Catching Faith,” a story about a household putting aside social image concerns and rediscovering the true meaning of family. The creators of the new, faith-based film featuring Bill Engvall have turned to Indiegogo for crowdsourcing post-production funds.

“We wanted to make something that stood out in the faith world by telling it from a woman’s perspective” Graham says, “It’s not something you see too often, but rather than focus on issues that isolate, we wanted to create a story the whole family can enjoy together and identify parts of themselves in each of our characters.”

The couple and their production team spent the months of June and July shooting the feature in the Chippewa Falls/Eau Claire region of Wisconsin where Boylan’s sister and co-writer of the film live. Growing up as daughters of a minister, the sisters drew a lot of inspiration from their childhood. After production the couple returned to their home in Los Angeles to finish the project. As they say in their pitch video, “we’ve shot the entire film, it’s in the can, ready to go…almost.”

The film’s campaign hopes to raise $55,000, which will be put towards editing, color, sound design, composing, promotions and delivering the film to audiences. “We’ve had such amazing support and outreach from our local towns during production, that we felt it was only right to continue our grassroots campaign and turn to a wider community of believers to help spread our film’s message” says Boylan.

Following Indiegogo’s guidelines, creators have a set deadline to raise their funding goal, which runs for 30 days. Backers can donate any amount they like, but get to choose “perks” from varying donation tiers. Prizes range from behind the scenes updates, private church screenings, all the way to becoming an executive producer where you get the chance at viewing an early cut and giving feedback to the film’s director.

If all goes well, the couple hopes to partner with a distributor and see the film’s release in Spring 2015.
