Hey, I picked up my first Pokemon game today, Pokémon Heart Gold, but why browsing youtube for music I heard this creepy story about the Lavendor town music, and a bunch of research about binarual beats which might be located in a certain version of the song. To top that off the music is stuck in my head and its 11:37 at night. O.O I kinda creeped out about this so could someone send me some feed back. Here's the link's. WARNING WARNING WARNING, DO NOT N-O-T WATCH THESE IF YOU ARE SOMEWHAT FAINT OF HEART OR BELOW THE AGE OF 13. IF ITS AT NIGHT WHERE YOU LIVE, IM WARNING YOU.

Interesting, though it appears to be nothing more than some creepy pasta story,
and a lot of creepy pasta stories are meant to sound real, though if the song really could harm someone,
the FBI would be all over it, shutting it down, and probably all information on it.
(I am not really sure how the FBI does things, but I figure it might be something like that.)

Speaking of creepy pasta stories,
as silly as this sounds, many thought Herobrine from Minecraft was real. :P
if you wish to look up the history of it, you can check here.
http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Herobrine" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It might be a good example of how rumors like these are made.
Even Notch, the maker of Minecraft had a hard time convincing people Herobrine was not real.

Though yes, back to Lavendor Town music,
it only reason it was made to sound creepy is because the setting was made to be creepy.
(I mean it has a tower that contains ghost pokemon, it needs to sound creepy right?)
Though if you think about it, the composer has composed many other wonderful upbeat songs for the game,
why would he even make a deadly song, what is the gain in it?
(That wouldn't really help pokemon's fame grow after all.)

By the way, here's the Gold/Silver version of the song,
the game Gold/Silver takes place two years after Red and Blue,
so Lavendor Town actually becomes quite a peaceful place,
the ghost tower get taken down and replaced,
and the music changes to fit the setting as well.
So if you want, listen to this, maybe you can get this stuck in your head instead of the Red/Blue version. :)
It start out like the red/blue version, but then it changes to a rather peacefully happy tune.

In a way, this song symbolizes change,
the memory of the past is still there,
but things have moved on, and for the better. :)

If there is still anything bothering you, let me know.

I figured something like this might be a prank or something, but the notes. I mean a ghost and LEAVE NOW in the music waves and the Banerual Beats and their strange relaxing or seriously disturbing sounds. In the rare Japanese gameboy Green Version OST. Is the composer trying to troll someone? By the way the ghost tower came back later. And there might be a pokemon version called Scary Black (hack or not) where you play as the ghost and the characters slowly start being replaced by gravestones -_- And its 5:36 so I lost a night of sleep over this, maybe.

Aww, I am sorry you lost sleep over this.
Though let me assure you it's not real.

I myself am more or less a pokemon fanboy,
and I have played all the games up to Pokemon Heart Gold so far,
(save the mirror versions of each gen, like Soul Silver for example.)
So I know a lot, and I mean a lot about Pokemon.

As for the tower,
it doesn't ever comeback,
and is replaced by a radio tower in gold/silver.

If you where talking about the remake of Red/Green,
yes, it has the tower, but the game still takes place before gold/silver,
so it still gets taken down and replaced by a radio tower.

As for Scary Black, it's a fan made game made by Lavendor Town fans.
(Although I am disliking the Lavendor Town fanbase a lot more now.)

Now as for the ghost and the "leave now" in the music waves, that is also fan made.
Also here is the big mistake the video maker made.
You know those letters that spell out "LEAVE NOW", well those are pokemon known as Unown.
Unown are pokemon that look like letters,
and ancient pokemon ruins tend have writings that use Unown's shapes for letters.

Now here's where the video maker messed up,
the Unown didn't even exist till pokemon gold and silver were made,
and those game where made 4 whole years after red/green. (I am judging by the japanese releases.)
There was no way the composer would even know about those,
since Unown didn't exist at the time, nor were they being developed, nor did they have a design, etc.
So the video and it's story, are completely fake.

So... all of that to say,
there is nothing to worry about. :)
It may take a few days for the fear of the story to fade away,
but it will sooner or later. Trust me, I had my share of scary stories.

Also if you want to, let me know if you want to add me as a friend on Pokemon Heart Gold. :)

There exists software that converts images to sound. It's been used by quite a few music artists to hide images in their tracks, most notably Nine Inch Nails and Aphex Twin. The uploader of the youtube video you linked simply ran the pictures through this software and mixed the resulting sound file overtop of the original Lavender Town song. Same goes for the low binaural beat frequencies in the video - they were added by the uploader of the video as well. If you listen to the actual original recording, none of these frequencies are present.

iirc the issue with that song was that the original version contained some irritating high frequencies which only young children were sensitive to. Binaural beats had nothing to do with it.

Love that song, btw, as well as this remix:
"I tried sniffing coke once, but the ice cubes got stuck in my nose."
