Hey, guys. DeadManReedeemed here. So this forum is about poetry, right?

Well, I'll make it up as I go along.

Name of Poem: Randomness

Poet: ME

Look over here
There is a girl in a bikini
And another
and another
ADHD
*SLAP* What's wrong with me?
Attraction to girls is natural
But not if I'm looking at every girl I see
But no dirty thoughts have run through your head
Shouldn't be happening nonetheless
When will I have someone to hang with
GOD, you must have someone for me
Love yourself first

Oh snap
Food
Drinks
Snacks
My stomach is stuck
Ate too much

Ghostly
So you can't see me
Or you can but never notice me
My heart desires association
But I hang by myself too much
I have trouble trusting
Have trouble with friendship

Since childhood.........

Life is full of unpredictable events
Choice
Motion
Love
Forward

Can you still stand?

I've posted this before I think, but whatever. Anapestic tetrameter with occasional iambic and trochaic substitutions, rhyme scheme of ABABCC.

With glistening eyes awake and curse ye not the day
The current of the years wears constant against
The much torment'd soul yet it ebbs, held at bay
By the force of a man's heart. Stoic minds, though fenced
by virtue's calm and strength, can scarce be made to hold.
And a sinewy hand lacks the might, though bold

Sleep with broken dreams, and wake to see the man whom,
in mortal folly, broke them, gazing from behind
the silvered glass. But gaze back, deny him his tomb
And treasure the slow fading fragments you unbind
So wake – yes, wake – to live with no dreams in a world
of wand'ring dreamers, lost, and through the cosmos hurled

Remain unconquered, then, a new day to seize
So grasp with tortured hands at what you never
reach. And see all things lost, as the omen decrees
For though you toil and strain you will weep, forever
As the wind has no end, nor a source, yet gusts on
So also your obdurate heart, until gone

Though the very fires of hell reach for you, defy
And let them warm your back as you surpass that den
So through the smoke, bid your ghosts good-bye
Those words left unspoken, those feelings forgotten
Bid them farewell, as you cross that dearest bliss
The Lethe serene, forgetful, the bitterest kiss

Rise anew, as a phoenix by passion made dust
And keep rising, not fearing what height may bring
With the lost, learn to soar, on shattered wings if must
Shy not from the pain, instead embrace it, mocking
Finally, search your broken mind, rule again, whole
But knowing that no king rules long, nor his soul
I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do - Robert A Heinlein

Whoa.....deep stuff, bro.

Well, since I started this forum let's keep it rolling shall we?

Poetry, baby.
Once again making it up as I go along.

Poem Name: Woman

Poet: Me (obviously)

Woman
Beautiful yet fragile
Yet Strong all the same
She is a vase with many cracks
Yet she is still held together
She is a rarity
A dinosaur believed to be extinct
Any man who finds a fossil such as this has found a blessed discovery

My words are very strange
But even you cannot deny this truth
That any man who finds a Woman is truly blessed by GOD

Her fragility is what makes her to be admired
And her strength what makes her to be feared by those who have sold their hearts and minds to achieve falsity
Only the man who sees the Line Drawn Between
And can love her for being Woman
And give his Everything for her
Is worthy of her

Oh Woman
Why do you choose to act like a Lady?

Oh wilt thou answer
Dearest Woman

Why does Woman
Choose to be Lady?

For Lady looks for reasons to avoid truth
And flaunt her Beauty of which was given to her
Because it was never hers

Yea, she is a vase on the verge of destruction
Holding more water than she can carry
Forcing herself to carry weight
Of which she was meant to carry

Woman!!!!!!
Beautiful Are You, Oh Woman!!!!!!

Love Yourself!!!!!!

All the gold and silver in the world
Is not worth selling yourself
To falsity!!!!!!!

Oh Woman!!!!!
Thou art rare!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Woman!!!!!!!!!
Oh Woman!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Woman!!!!!!
Awaken from sleep

And seize the day!!!!!!!

Precious Woman!!!!!!!

Oh Precious Woman!!!!!!!!

You...do realize poetry by definition has a set meter...right?

No. It doesn't. Poetry's a bit more broad in it's definition and relies more on the "aesthetic quality of language," which often presents itself but is not limited to rhyme and meter.

This being said, poetry is one forms of art I prefer the least, understand the least, and is abused the most.

I'm not a poet myself, but I can appreciate some good words. Such as Levi the Poet.

I HAS POETYRS TOO.

Autumn Evenings.

Ours days pass quicker than twilight's breath,
the love we embrace brings our minds far from death.
But time sure flies when we're having fun,
and I didn't realize how soon you'd be gone.

Seventy years seems so long as a child,
we play it away without thought to the hour,
and as dusk grows near, so grows our fear,
as our friends all go home and leave us in tears.

What will I do, when those I love are gone,
and the shadows of our life are all that carry on?
Until heaven's gates are all I see,
when this world becomes the memory.

Time carries us onward whether we will,
like the icy black sea that flounders the ship.
And like those poor sailor’s I'd bail if I could,
I'd take my loved ones and sail to the sun.

But since that's not an option,
I'll love them while I can.
And live and love,
knowing it will not stand.
At least on this world.

I know it's cliché, but still I'll say it,
'tis better by far to have loved and then lost.
And the Father of all, with death as his servant,
gives to us life, and life without cost.

When those gleaming gates receive me,
and my friends and family swell to greet me.
Then will pain be silenced and divest,
depart now our ships, and wander, forever, the west.

One of the ultimate poets.

My turn again.

Okay.

Bathroom Rush.
by Me.

Gotta go to the bathroom
Not sure how much longer I can hold it
My stomach is churning
and I've been holding it for a long time

I've got to do both at the same time.

How much longer do I have to hold it?
How much longer do I have to wait?

The irony of life...........

God, are you listening?

Yes, I am.
Are you listening is the question.

It is hard to listen to you
With all this noise

I am shielding you
Do you believe this?

I do but....

That means you don't believe me

I know you are shielding me
But please I'm human

Can you blame me?
I only have myself to blame
Although it is not entirely my fault

But GOD I think it's time
To start listening to You

Now we can go forward together
My precious child

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

If you use a dictionary to look up the definition of poetry, you are banned from awesomeness until you repay it.

The easiest way to do this is by flying through a wall at the speed of awesome, completely ignoring physics and living by the Laws of Awesome alone.

Yeah, besides using a dictionary as evidence, the first definition listed is actually in line with what I've stated.
