This.

A thousand times, this.

Dude, I hate to say it like this but I'm gonna do it:

GROW UP. Sonic has more than 3 games that are just as good.

Moreover, did you know Sonic had his own arcade fighting game?
That's a classic, too. So you gonna turn around and say that's not the real Sonic either? :?

Uh.

How to put this?

There have only ever been three good Sonic games, and arguably Sonic and Knuckles.

Sonic CD was middling.

The Sonic Adventure series was bad, even for when it came out. Like... seriously. What was up with that cat?

Let's not even get into the newest games. Or the one with "Princess Elise", where they "may or may not" have had some horribly misguided romance.

Man.

Why are you even arguing this?

You've officially reached 'old fart' in gamer status. :P

I was around back then, and still occasionally pull out my Genesis to play 1, 2, and Knuckles. But I still love me some 3D Sonic, and heartily disagree with you.

And you know, I've not even touched the lauded Adventures series; just Shadow, which was generally universally hated.

I have to admit, that was pretty creepy.

Yes. Yes it was. :(

But honestly, I wasn't really paying attention to that. I just like Sonic games. And I hope they start working on Sonic Factory again.

Well, in reality any Sonic game by SEGA is a real Sonic game.

Though in the way you meant it,
I kinda disagree.

I have played the original Sonic 1-2 games on the old Sega Master System many years ago.
I also played Sonic 3/& Knuckles in a Sonic classic collection game for the Gamecube years later.
I loved those games.

Though, I still prefer Sonic adventure battle 2 over them.
(It's not because of the Chao garden, even though I love the chao garden. )
I just really loved the game play, dashing though a level with homing attacks, rail grinding , and ramp jumping, etc.
There was also secret abilities you could find, thus adding an exploring element to it.
There were also around four challenges for each level, and those are fun to do also.

The original games are good,
though I feel like your comparing Super Mario Bros with Super Mario Sunshine.
In other words your comparing a 2D game to a 3D game.

...Well, I might just be confused,
what is it that the first games had that others don't?
(I think I should have said this first.)

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, I think it was the challenge that made the first Sonic games what they are. Speeding through obstacles like it was nothing. Not that the NEW Sonic games don't take that to the next level..... 8)

I tend to have pretty loose standards for such people, but whoever deals you ice is one irresponsible son o' one.

Seriously dude. Relax, have a good time, stop hopping around like a Wacker DS70 with a stuck throttle cable

So, then, you've played all the 3D instalments and can objectively state the originals were not only better, but the only true games in the series?

No?

Then
