Is anyone here playing on the player servers, and doing player-made worlds?

How's it going? Updates? Cyan rebuilding yet?

The last sequel in the MYST franchise was URU:Ages Beyond Myst, and had one expansion. It grew, and they contracted with a super server site, I forget who, and renamed it URU:Online. Anywho... after a time Superserversite, decided there weren't enough subscriptions to keep the service going. The licensing reverted back to Cyan, but for a period of time Cyan was barred from servicing their own game on their own servers. Meanwhile, player fanbase created their own server cluster and Cyan gave permission for player created worlds.
The new setup was quite complicated, and I never got around to having enough time to figure it all out, but eventually still want to do it.

It was such a great game, peaceful world, mysterious creatures, great graphics, and the online community was stellar. It was a really great escape from reality.

You must, must, must!, finish the original games. They just kept getting better and better. Riven was awesome, and URU, well, URU/ MystOnline is a definite experience. So sorry you missed URU Live in it's heyday. The neighborhoods are mostly ghost towns now. But it's a great place to be if you need virtual relaxation, with the great scenery and ambiance. It's still a good play, as far as story goes. I know Cyan said they weren't going to continue with the Myst story, but I'm not sure if that applies to URU. There is still a lot of room for it to go on with.

I guess I better start those games back up then. :)
(and if I see the 4th and 5th game in a used game store, I will be sure to get them. )

I have not actually started the free online game yet,
(I been kinda busy)
I will download it next weekend, if I am not busy. :)
