So... I've been intentionally ignoring anything about this game for quite some time. Why? I have no idea. I was hearing, "Man, this game is awesome" from all these different blogs and I was ignoring it. Because I'm cool like that. >_>

But anyway. Tonight, I finally gave in and I watched a couple trailers.

What did I see? I saw God of War crossed with Beyond Good and Evil and Prince of Persia (the 2008 version). Which is to say, the game looks to have combat comparable to God of War (complete with icons popping up so you can finish enemies off), co-op elements similar to Prince of Persia (the two characters must work together to continue; one is more or less useless without the other), and an art style that oozes the same sort of flair that was in Beyond Good and Evil.

All of which is to say, I'm crazy excited for this game, if it turns out as good as any of the aforementioned titles.

Here's Gametrailer's preview (probably swearing in the comments; GT's community annoys me to no end, so I don't read the comments):

What do you think?

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

The gameplay looks great but I don't like the art style.

From what I've seen, it looks super interesting. I may get it when the price drops. Probably a smart move considering this game isn't super hyped, so the drop will happen rather quickly.

Needs more explosions.

Needs more Space Marine.

Needs more brown.

Then it's a blockbuster title.

What is it about the art style that you don't like?

haha... on a related note, I'm probably going PS3 on this game. Why? Ninja Theory has more experience deving for Sony's system. I feel strangely more comfortable with that.

It's like a mix of japanese art and american art. Just doesn't look good together, just my opinion though.

Hmm, actually, that's what draws me to it. It reminds me, like I said, of Beyond Good and Evil (such a good game; seriously, if anyone hasn't played that, hunt it down), or maybe The Mark of Kri.

There is a demo on XBL. I'm downloading it now, to be honest the art style is kinda growing on me. Hopefully the gameplay is as good as it looks.

The demo was fun, but the characters movement feels slippery. If they tighten it up it could be really fun.

Nah, Monkey was slippery. Gave a good sense of momentum. Demo was impressive, enjoyed it a lot.
