So I kind of love Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. And I'd like to play more games like that.

The problem is, I'm having trouble finding them. Or at least, finding ones I haven't played, or feel comfortable playing. Diablo is an obvious choice, but I'm not fond of the satanic flavor. Torchlight and Bastion too, I've played before.

So....any suggestions?

Other games from the same settings - basically, top-down D&D games - come to mind. Planescape: Torment is an instant classic. Neverwinter Nights, as well. And, of course, there's Baldur's Gate: Enhanced edition to consider....

If you're looking to step outside the D&D realms, consider Spiderweb Software's offerings. Especially the Avernum and Avadon series. Those are more turn-based than real-time, but they are similar, at least.

Torchlight 2 has pentagrams. Guild Wars 2 may be up your alley though. MMO with no monthly fees

I have nothing to add to this except for the fact that one of my friends worked heavily on Planescape: Torment and is the Design Lead for Tides of Numenera. :)

Now that is very cool! :) I'm looking forward to that game.

I love being a naive homeschooler who has no idea what a pentagram is and what it means xD
Someone care to enlighten me?

I'm a home schooler son. It's right up your alley to know. A pentagram, simply, is a satanic symbol in the shape of a five-pointed star, usually upside down in a circle. Historically it's been used all over the place, but in current pop culture/culture, it's used as an evil symbol.

Which is awkward. But I loved the first Torchlight so much.

I was looking for more top-down hack and slash, rather than turn based, but Planescape seems to be almost universally loved. @_@

Okey. That's what I thought it was, but I haven't ever seen very many. I probably just don't notice it :P since I'm one to routinely skip or miss things like story and dialogue.

It think the Sacred games are all ARPG. The Witcher 1 was also playable as an ARPG I think, but I'm pretty sure there's a ton of stuff in there that isn't for eyes to see.

Yeah, I'ma pass on the Witcher games. XD I seen them recommended before though.

I have been eyeing Fate. Looks a little kiddy-flavored, but I have no overt problems with that.

And Avernum. But I'm really wanting an ARPG (thank you for supplying the term). It's hard to beat 6 games for $12 though.
