Would anyone be interested in a no-occult/suggestive mod for Undertale? I might even be able to tone done some of the creepier parts if I make this.

Arn't RPG maker games difficult to mod without opening and repacking the archives? Tried once years ago with to the moon and remember something about the text being in the tiles themselves.

A mod like that for Undertale would be amazing!

Fallout 1 is free on Steam for today. I've made a no swear mod for it in that past. You can find it here:
http://www.moddb.com/games/fallout/addo ... -swear-mod
It also has options to turn off the blood. It's a great old game with an eerie story line. Enjoy.

There are lots of sales on gog.com, steampowered.com, and hunblebundle right now (black Friday). Many of the games from this thread are on sale. Go check them out if you're looking for some awesome cheap games that have been mentioned here.

Does anyone know if there are mod tools for Rainbow six Vegas ?

Does anyone know if the assets for the game are easy to access, such as just .dds textures files in a folder or .wav or .ogg files in the install folder?

It looks like it would be a way fun co op game.

Found another to add to the list. Dark Souls 3 has a no blood toggle option. Please be aware, however, that it's kinda dark, spooky, and disturbing at times.

Hello, is it possible to mod out the foul language for Dying Light? I understand that this thread is a little old but I could use an answer on the subject. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum LilGumby!33

I think it should be possible based on this video: https://youtu.be/mizR_ZTaJXY My recommendation would be:
Use a program like freecommander (http://freecommander.com/en/downloads/), which will allow you to search for through text files without having to open them.

First find a spot in the game that is easy to load and save quickly, has a piece of audio to edit.

1. Find the subtitle files by doing a text search. Find the sentence you want to edit. (text search will be slightly different than a file search)
1a. see if the subtitles refer to the audio files used.
2. Find the audio files from the reference if there is one (these may have a path listed with the subitles files, but it may not so you may have to do some searching)
3. Edit the audio files, then edit the subtitles files. (if you edit the subtitles first, you've lost your reference to what the speech should be. This is really useful if there is no reference to the audio files path. Sometimes you'll have to listen to a lot of files before you find how they have their files organized. Sometime
4. backup your data3.pak in the game directory (usually along the lines of C:\programfiles (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\dying light)
5.open data3.pak with 7zip and put your edited files into their matching folders you found them in.
6. test that piece of audio. If it works, you now have the start of a mod. Continue till you edit all the curse words out of the game.

Thanks a lot, but also what about borderlands 2? (If there isn’t an already existing one which I have not been able to find) I find the game fun but the foul language was enough for me to quit, if there’s a way to change it would it work like Dying Light or would it be different?

I’ve never modded before so it’s a new experience. I have gotten to the text search (I think) where I have been unable to find just how to do it and have been unable to find a guide or video to help me figure this out. I have downloaded the free commander XE and have opened it up to the dying light files where I have gotten stuck on how to find the audio and/or subtitles files. Cant find the text search so that isn’t too good and I’m still not sure on how to even use free commander. I am not really much of a modder/coder/programmer/finding software to change other software and files kind of guy. So any type of help or direction to go in would be appreciated or if you just happen to find a mod for it already that I could use. Thanks again.

Start with extracting the .pak archives. Sorry I don't think I explicitliy mentioned that. Were you able to extract the .pak archives? Specifically Data3.pak? I think that might be where you might find audio and subtitles based on what was in the video as well as this mod here nexus mods

I'm not sure what format the subtitles they'll be in. At one point in the past I was working a on a no swear mod for a game called Chrome, which uses a very old version of the engine used for dying light. The subtitles for chrome were in .scr files. Those can be edited with Notepad++. Dying Light might use the same type of file for subtitles. Type CTRL+F to open a search window. If you're not finding them using the text search, try use the file search (the field about an inch above the text search).Type in *.scr. Using the star character is a wildcard so it will look for anything that ends in .scr. It will give you some folder locations you can look at. Start doing text searches in those folders for words that need editing.

According to this thread it looks like the spoken audio is supposed to be in SpeechEn.https://steamcommunity.com/app/239140/d ... 819884079/. Hopefully the subtitles will refer to the files in question and then all you'll need is time to edit everything.

Don't worry about inexperience. Once you get started and get a workflow going it will get easier. Keep at it. These things take time, but in the end you have something with a lot more replay value. It feels awesome when you've made something other people can use too.

question about Dying light. It looks like it would be a fun co op game, but I'm not big on gory games. Does it have options to turn off or tone down the blood?

Sorry, just checked all the option features and no blood/gore option of any kind. I even searched for any existing mods for it and didn’t find anything for it. Thanks for the tips on dying light though.

State of Decay 2 came out a little while back and I was thinking of getting it but I’ve heard the profanity can get pretty bad, is there an already existing mod for this? I even thought about the Metro Series but I heard there’s a lot of profanity and even some ‘other stuff’. Any kind of mod that helps with these games would be much appreciated, thanks.

I'm not sure if there is for the second game. There is a filter mod for the first game here: Nexus Mods. Note it bleeps out the swearing instead of cutting the audio.

I would imagine that the new title might support mods in a similar way to the first, but from what I can tell I guess that will yet to be seen. I've never played the first game, but the first game has over 17 pages of mods in the 'top mods' category over on Nexus Mods so one can hope the devs have taken the community's cue that they like to make their experience their own.
