Re: Predator Hull #69812735982-F

My Lord Marshal,

As discussed in the meeting on the Strategium of the Gladius Imperator last last month, we have completed our initial report on the repairs and upgrades to the Predator Hull #69812735982-F acquired as part of the capture of the Landing Pad on the outskirts of New Moscow on Coriolis V, subsequent to our victory against the vile Eldar Xenos.

This particular Predator hull was poorly assembled and was in an incomplete state when we captured the motor pool adjacent to the pad. As yuo can see from the attached hololith, the tracks have not been installed, the weapon sponsons were removed by force, presumably from Eldar sappers, and the main turret is not properly mounted.

This particular tank is a base model with very few actual upgrades besides the storm bolter on the cupola. We believe the hull can be salvaged and placed into service for the XVI Crusade with the following tasks:

-Install new tracks
-Remove and replace the turret mount
-Repair the sponson mounts
-Upgrade the chassis to install a dozer blade
-Add the icons of our glorious Chapter

The Machine Spirit has expressed an eagerness to be refitted to combat readiness, and we are pleased.

My Lord Marshal,

Primary repairs are complete on Predator Hull #69812735982-F. <See attached hololith> We have installed new hardware internally and externally, including new control actuators, new treads, new tow cables, chapter icons, turret mount and engine cover. We are now proceeding to apply anticorrosive material and will begin restoration of the Heavy Bolter side sponsons.

Thanks! Nothing sadder than a tank with no tracks!

I love it! The Black Templar iconology is amazing.

Should have called it "Templar's Fugate" though. >_>

Are those details (The cross and numerals) decals, or hand-painted? If they're decals, I've always wondered how to apply them so they don't peel. Then again, I'm a complete modelling newb, so... :P

They're decals. ForgeWorld sells a really nice decal sheet for Black Templars and I use them extensively along with the normal decals I have leftover from past models.

When applying decals, I can't stress enough the awesomeness of decal softener. If you have an irregular shape or textured surface to apply decals to, using softener will make the decal conform to the shape tightly. It also helps them stick even if you're applying them to a flat surface. After that's completely dry, a coat of clearcoat will seal them on.
