They swear up and down this movie isn't meant as parody and satire, and they actually did get Jack Chick's permission to do the film. Considering Zombie Orpheus is involved (The guys behind my all time favorite movie: The Gamers: Dorkness Rising) this can't possibly be an honest attempt to spread Chick's message. I think they're basically using the fact that Dark Dungeons (the tract) is already an unintentional parody of itself and want to transfer that spirit to video.
A bit sneaky, IMHO... But not gonna lie, I'm gonna buy a copy.

oh man.
Oh Man.
OH MAN.
I'm so down for this.
I remember that Chick Tract. One of my first introductions to D&D, too.
Love me some full on satire, too.
Wish I knew about this kickstarter sooner, I would have backed it.
And not gonna lie, either.
The Gamers: Dorkness Rising was pretty awesome. It really got me wanting to try out D&D.

It's kind of weird how insistent they are that it isn't a parody or satire, but if you watch the guy's video on the kickstarter I think there are some subtle hints that, despite this, the intention is not for this movie to be taken seriously. It'll LOOK serious, but we as the audience who KNOW D&D and understand how it really works, will find the movie as hilarious as the tract...
...which Dolly is buying a copy of on eBay today just 'cause.
