It is art, and it's also science. Have you ever watched Good Eats on Food Network with Alton Brown? It's really cool, because he understands the science behind everything and explains it in layman's terms.

Definitely a form of art! When I cook, my food has to look as good as I expect it to taste. Of course, getting good taste is artistic. The Wanderer is right about science being important, but I still think that it's more an art than science in practice.

Of course, the majority of things seem to be more art than science in practice in my experience. Science is useful for getting the fundamentals and ideas down, but artistic expression is where I find the source for my creative abilities.

It happens again and again and again.... I always get my hopes up, then they're crushed... like a two year-old stomping an ant...

Heard of the movie coming out this year called "Hounddog"? Well, it's got Dekota Fanning in it, whom is a Baptist, which got my hopes up, because Baptist is pretty much Christian. And now, I read about this Hounddog movie on Wikipedia... Here's what's making me so down:

CAUTION! THIS MAY CONTAIN EXPLICIT EXPLANATION OF THIS MOVIE! JUST TELL ME IF YOU WANT ME TO TAKE DOWN THE LINK, AND I WILL GLADLY! READ WITH CAUTION!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hounddog

Now, I'm not saying that Dakota is lost and has no chance; it's just that when you get your hopes up about an actor being a Christian (or Baptist in this case), and then this happens, it's kind of saddening... I know, I know... It's not the worst thing, but still...

I don't really watch it. My brothers do, though. Actually, I don't watch comedies.

"Unacceptable! What a sad thing you are. Unable to answer even such a simple question without falling back on references, and genealogies and what other people call you. Have you nothing of your own? Nothing to stand on that is not provided, defined, delineated, stamped, sanctioned, numbered, and approved by others? How can you expected to fight for someone else when you haven't the fairest idea who you are?"

-- Sebastian to Delenn in Babylon 5:"Comes the Inquisitor"

"How do you know the chosen ones? No greater love hath a man than he lay down his life for his brother. Not for millions, .. not for glory, not for fame. For one person, .. in the dark .. where no one will ever know .. or see."

-- Sebastian to Delenn & Sheridan in Babylon 5:"Comes the Inquisitor"

That was a bit of a painful episode to watch.

"When the darkness comes, know this: You are the right people,
in the right place, at the right time."

Unlike the Germans.
