I just found out about them when looking up falconry licenses. After my initial amusement, I let out a loud sigh followed by a "what the everloving frack is wrong with people". Otherwise known as my usual reaction to governmental stupidity. If I ever see a federal Fish and wildlife guy he'll be getting a bird of an entirely different, more flippy sort.
For those who don't know...feathers from anything other than pigeons, starlings, and other common vermin or in season game birds are illegal. So think about that before you pick one up off the ground. Or, you know, walk around with one from every native species of raptor in your cap like SWIM does.

That's easy - just regard all birds as vermin!
That's a good example of ridiculous government overregulation, though. Obviously the bird doesn't need it any more, so what's the harm?

It's illegal to possess a bird feather without both a federal and state permit.Chozon1 wrote:Say....what now?
Basically feathers are more regulated than guns.

It boggles my mind how people claim to be rational beings.
