The Killer and the Star--The Killer and the Star

Scooter Ward(of COLD)'s side project churned out a beautifully constructed piece of music that is elegant, touching, and thematically heavy.

Swoon--Silversun Pickups

Tied with TKATS for my favorite album of 2009. These guys still have noticeable traces of Smashing Pumpkins idolatry, but it doesn't stop them from being immensely talented.

Love this album. So much.

With the Lights Out---Nirvana.

This is a very cool compilation album. Most of the set is rarities and unreleased recordings.

It's pretty much a Nirvana fans' dream

The Resistance--Muse

As a cohesive package, it's not Muse's strongest album at all (I prefer the bombastic epicness of The Origin of Symmetry, though the layered symphonic quality and dystopian story rock), but the phenomenal album-closing Exogenesis: Parts I, II & III a culmination of many years of planning, writing, and wishing from Matthew Bellamy, ranks among the best pieces Muse has ever done. It's beautiful, musically inspiring, and sweepingly ambitious.

Them Crooked Vultures--Them Crooked Vultures

Something this awesome could only come from a combination of members from Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, and Led Zeppelin. I've never heard anything quite like this before, and the different talents work together for one darn fine package that is brilliantly unique, catchy, and both thrilling and exhausting to listen to. The lyrics are problematic though: crammed full of sex and drugs.

I think I like these guys better than Nirvana, about equal to Pearl Jam, but not as much as Soundgarden or Alice In Chains.

American Idiot- Green Day

I can think of few albums that come close to the pop mastery of this. I don't want to say it's the MOST unfairly hated album of all time, but it's near the top. I consider a lot of the singles on this album to be perfect songs, which is saying something considering I once hated this album with a burning passion (with no real reason for it other than I was a zombie to my parents conservative political beliefs). Look past the juvenile political posturing on the album just like you would ignore the juvenile antics of any good Blink album, and just enjoy it for what it is.

Really good collection of their hits, though the lack of "Renegade" is disappointing.

Can't decide if I like this or Mesmerize better.

I just listened to

Escape---Journey.

and

Persistence of Time---Anthrax.

The Anthrax album is.....largely mediocre, just like the rest of Anthrax's work.
