True Blood.
I... absolutely love this show. It gives Buffy a serious run for its money in terms of amazing characters. Seriously. This show just... wow. Sookie, Bill, Sam, even Jason, Tara and Grandmother... maaaaaan. They're all so deep. So awesome.
Anna Paquin (Sookie) is very likely my favorite actress all time. She's quickly growing on me. So... real. She blew Sarah Michelle Gellar and Eliza Dushku out of running for that spot after the first two or three episodes of season 1. o.O
If there was a show to overtake Buffy as my #1 favorite this would be it. I don't say that lightly.
I give a word of warning to anyone considering it, though. The show is not light on the sex, language and violence. It's gory. And... yeah. It's rated TV-MA for a reason... just keep that in mind.
What was the last TV show you watched?

The pilot episode of Firefly.
It was OK....took a while to get interesting.
And Western music doesn't go with sci-fi
Currently watching the pilot of Babylon 5.
This, I could get into.

The pilot episode(s) of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. (I decided to give it another go)
Uhhh.......
....Well, it's not terrible.....but it's not great.
Xander is so far the only character i really like. Though Williow's expert tricking of Cordelia was so win (Since I'd probably do the same).
And I'm not a fan of Buffy herself. She's way too arrogant to be likable.
(BTW, this is from just viewing the pilot)

I actually agree with your entire post. When my friend showed me Buffy for the first time (we started with the pilot and then proceeded to watch half of the first season) , I was like, "Uhhhhh. Riiiiiight."Deepfreeze32 wrote:The pilot episode(s) of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. (I decided to give it another go)

More Buffy the vampire slayer.
The X-Files-like quality of this show is rather engaging, I must admit. Though I still don't get the hype. So far it's a halfway decent X-Files-fused-with-teen-drama show.
Still not a fan of Buffy, though she is a little less arrogant.
