That whole series = fail.

What happened to the Tolkien's of the world....

The Children of Hurin.

REAL fantasy.

I beg to differ.

The writing is terrible.

I'm reading--and here the literary snob in me comes out even more--"I Am No One You Know" by Joyce Carol Oates.

Really excellent collection of short stories.

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

What exactly are you differing on? I didn't say it wasn't terrible. :P

Well... I think that it is much better than the first book, and at times it can be very good. But I think it fluctuates. Sometimes it can be downright awful. It is somewhat enjoyable though...

Ender's Shadow

There are points in this book that make me wonder if Card really did plan that far ahead, or did that just come up. Either way the book amazes me, as well as most of the books in the Ender/Bean universe.

I read that one not long ago. I think I liked Ender's Game better, but it was interesting to see the story told from a new point of view.

Speaker for the Dead was like twice as good as any book in that series. Card's best, IMO...
