Honestly, much as I enjoy painting, I'm pretty much done after about ten models. XD I have no idea how you painted a Bretonnian fantasy army. O_o
Over many years...

Wow, you're a member of the church too? I was wondering if I would find another Mormon here, but with this being a Christian thing, I guess I kinda underestimated the chances. I'm the deacon quorum president, but my birthday was just a few weeks ago, so I should be moving into the teacher's quorum soon.

Okay, so this is going to sound like i'm trying to start an argument, and I am not. So please don't feel offended. I am genuinely curious.

How do you account for the fact that archaeology has not yet found any evidence to support any claims made in the Book of Mormon?

Again, I'm not trying to be mean, I am curious. Let me know if I overstepped.

No worries. Any sincere question is a good question.

There actually has been quite a bit of evidence, though as with so many things it's a matter of interpretation. Some would say it doesn't support the Book of Mormon at all, some would say it's pretty airtight.

I'm not an archaeologist so I can't speak knowledgeably about much of it, but the Stela 5 stone is of particular interest to Book of Mormon scholars because its carvings and visual elements coincide very precisely to a story in the Book of 1 Nephi, which is found near the beginning of the Book of Mormon. Is it evidence? I dunno.

I have a book around here somewhere that lists a ton of other artifacts that have been found in Mezoamerica that match ancient Jewish, Egyptian and other cultures that would suggest a connection with those regions at the right time.

All that said, just as with the Bible, we believe it not because of the agreement of archaeologists, but by faith. :D

Well welcome to the site!

My favorite scripture story really depends on my mood. There's plenty of good ones, though I do especially like the parables Jesus taught.

Our oldest is going off to college this August. The empty nesting begins. I'm also working fulltime to help pay for said college education. It's crazy expensive these days. Everything is....
