Now that I have a machine capable of handling it, I've started dabbling with DAZ Studio again. Here is my latest work which I think is decent enough to share (meaning that it clearly is not just a silly experiment with lighting, content, poses, etc...).

It took me about two days, but it wasn't all at one sitting. Periodically over the weekend I would load things into my scene and play around with it, and focus more on composition and lighting after the kids went to bed. I'm sure that I could spend some more time with it (I only used two lights in this scene) to make it look better - maybe even do some post-work in Photoshop - to make it look even better.

Maybe I'll still do that. I'll have to think about what I want to do with it....

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond! DAZ 3D is a company that makes computer software that can generate computer-generated images. If I recall correctly, one of their earliest products that made them popular was Bryce, which is a program that can be used to create terrains and architecture. They have expanded significantly - especially with the popularity of CGI movies - and they now are considered to be the chief competitor to SmithMicro's Poser in terms of 3D content and software. One thing that helped is that DAZ Studio - a program that can be used to generate CGI scenes like the one I posted above, or have for my (current) avatar - is available for free. DAZ 3D makes their money by selling content to be used in their programs, but free content can be found all over the Web, too.

I've included links to the Web sites above, but if you have other questions, I can try to answer them. :)
