Today I learned that if you forget to unplug your hot glue gun after an armor repair session, the glue turns a golden brown...

So I'm going to be wearing my suit at a Convention in Frederick, MD this weekend.

(BFGCon, first year. Come on out!)

I've been doing repairs, upgrades and adding details that I had been planning for a while. This evening, I added lights to the eye lenses so that they glow, as I do plan to wear my helmet this time.

Will post some pics soon.

So I decided to go all the way with it and made temporary tattoos and shaved my head to a mohawk...

And the full suit:

Unfortunately... I had my first fall at the convention. I was walking through a doorway and didn't leave myself enough room on the right side and my shoulder caught. I wasn't prepared for it and fell forward all the way to the floor.

The damage to the suit was repairable with some duct tape so that I could continue, but I did screw up my knee. The doctor isn't too worried about it and it should be better in a few days.

I'm glad I went, and it was cool to be in my suit again after so long. The only problem was the convention was small and wasn't the type of gaming I'd normally go for. Maybe next year...

Wow nice hair cut! Sorry to hear about the fall, glad there are no serious injuries to you or the suit. Hope next year goes better.

So I've upgraded the suit with
  • A better aquila on the chest
  • Added an endoskeleton to the chest plate
  • Improved the attachment between the backpack and the chest plate
  • Added a BT cross to the right knee
  • Completely reworked the stilt structure and feet structure to improve safety. Pics will be added soon.
Also repaired all the damage from that fall. It wasn't too bad, and gave me a chance to make a few improvements.
